Penfolds Grange 2010 1.5L Magnum 60th Anniversary edition
Comes in wooden gift box containing a mini tablet screen which shows a video of “The making of Grange 2010”.
Produced from 96% Shiraz and 4% Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2010 Penfolds Grange was matured for 17 months in 100% new American oak hogsheads. It presents a completely saturated appearance, with an opaque, glass-staining inky black core and an impenetrable dark purple-black hue.
Displaying extraordinary intensity, the bouquet is a kaleidoscope of aromas including liquorice, ripe blackberries and dark plums, layered with dark chocolate, hints of violet, vanillin oak, subtle mocha and spice.
Full-bodied, richly textured and immensely powerful, the palate delivers an explosive surge of fruit, unveiling layer upon layer of flavour. Ripe blackberries, dark plums and liquorice lead, followed by dark chocolate, vanillin oak, confectionary notes and spice. Firm, chewy tannins frame the immense fruit core, giving the wine a muscular, rock-solid structure.
The finish is exceptionally long and sustained, echoing flavours of ripe blackberries, liquorice, dark chocolate, vanillin oak and spice. Bordering on perfection, this wine is destined to reach the coveted 100-point mark as further complexity emerges with extended bottle age.
